Nine Customized LED Displays for Information, Guidance & Communication
A Grade-A tertiary hospital in Zhongshan, Guangdong, selected COMSIGHT again to provide customized LED display systems for its new comprehensive building.
The project includes nine customized LED displays supporting hospital information, patient guidance, and internal communication across multiple floors and departments.
It required customized screen sizes, integration with the hospital’s information system for real-time data display, application-specific control functions, and professional on-site installation and commissioning.
Project Background
Zhongshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine is one of the major hospitals in Zhongshan, Guangdong, China, and a Grade-A tertiary hospital.
As part of its new comprehensive building project, the hospital required multiple hospital LED display systems for different applications, including the main lobby, ultrasound department, medical imaging department, endoscopy department, and conference rooms.
COMSIGHT had previously supplied LED displays for the hospital. Based on our product quality, customization capability, and service experience, the hospital once again selected COMSIGHT for its new building.
The project included nine customized LED displays with different pixel pitches, sizes, and configurations, each designed according to its specific application and installation environment.
Project Requirements
Customized Displays for Different Hospital Spaces
The displays were installed in different areas of the new building, each with its own architectural layout, viewing distance, and functional requirements.
Standard screen dimensions could not meet every installation condition. Each display therefore had to be customized in size and configuration while maintaining consistent visual quality and system reliability.
Integration with the Hospital Information System
Most of the displays were not standalone information screens. With the exception of the lobby display and conference room displays, the other six LED displays needed to receive data from the hospital’s existing information systems and present it in real time.
This was particularly important for patient-facing applications, where information such as triage, queue status, and departmental service information needed to be transferred from the hospital system to the LED displays accurately and reliably.
The system therefore needed to support:
- Real-time data transmission from the hospital information system
- Patient guidance
- Queue and triage information
- Department and service information
- Application-specific information display
- Meeting and internal communication
The project required more than LED display manufacturing. The displays also had to be integrated with the hospital’s existing information infrastructure so that the right information could be presented at the right location.
Coordination with Interior Design and Site Conditions
The displays needed to fit precisely into the new building’s interior design and actual site conditions.
This required coordination between display dimensions, installation positions, control systems, signal connections, and on-site commissioning.

Application-Specific LED Display Design
COMSIGHT designed each display according to its application, viewing environment, and available installation space instead of applying one standard configuration throughout the project.
The nine displays used different pixel pitches, dimensions, resolutions, and control requirements to support the hospital’s lobby, departments, waiting areas, and conference rooms.

a. Main Lobby — P2 Fine-Pitch LED Display
Model: VS1344x2688-1R1G1B-2.0-ISF
Resolution: H1344 × W2688 pixels
Configuration: GOB protection, customized power distribution box with enclosure and power control switch, and one video processor.
Installed in the 1st-floor main lobby, the large-format indoor LED video display serves as a central information display.
b. Ultrasound Department — P4.75 LED Displays
Models: VS96x576-1R1G1B-4.75-ISF / VS96x1280-1R1G1B-4.75-ISF
Resolution: H96 × W576 / H96 × W1280 pixels
Two displays share one control system and are used for patient triage and queue information at the 2nd-floor ultrasound waiting and registration area.
c. Conference Rooms — P1.86 & P5 LED Displays
Models:

These displays were installed in the 17th-floor and 3rd-floor conference rooms, providing visual presentation for meetings and internal communication.
d. Medical Imaging Department — Customized P4 LED Displays

- VS96x1280-1R1G1B-4.0-ISF — H96 × W1280 pixels
These displays were installed in the MRI treatment room, treatment room, and waiting area on the 1st floor.
e. Endoscopy Department — Customized P4 LED Display
Model: VS128x960-1R1G1B-4.0-ISF
Resolution: H128 × W960 pixels
Installed on the 4th floor in the endoscopy department for departmental information display.
Customized Software and System Integration
A key part of this project was integrating the LED displays with the hospital’s existing information systems.
The hospital provided the required database interface and basic display layout requirements. Based on these requirements, COMSIGHT developed a unified customized LED display solution and software system for the six LED displays connected to the hospital’s information system.
The software was designed as a configurable platform rather than a set of fixed display settings. Using COMSIGHT’s configuration tools, each display could be configured according to its application, including the database fields it retrieved, the way information was arranged on the screen, and how the layout matched the actual screen size.
This platform-based approach allowed the six displays to share the same software platform while supporting different screen sizes, layouts, and information requirements. The other three displays were operated using COMSIGHT’s standard display software.
On-Site Installation and Commissioning
COMSIGHT provided on-site installation and commissioning to ensure that the customized displays were properly integrated into the new building.

- Information system and control system integration
- Control system configuration
- Display content and functional testing
- Real-time data display verification
- On-site commissioning and final verification
From customized display manufacturing to system integration and on-site support, COMSIGHT managed the key technical requirements of the project.
Project Results
The customized LED display systems were successfully deployed across multiple floors and departments of the hospital’s new comprehensive building.
The displays now support a variety of applications, from central information publishing and patient queue guidance to conference room presentation and departmental communication.
By combining customized display dimensions, application-specific configurations, hospital information system integration, customized software integration, and on-site commissioning, COMSIGHT delivered a reliable LED display solution tailored to the hospital’s different environments and operational requirements.
More importantly, this project represents another successful cooperation with an existing customer.
